This campaign update shares some exciting news about our campaign to secure community ownership of the bowling green at Randolph road and create a vibrant community hub in Broomhill. We are making remarkable progress, and we wouldn’t be where we are without your unwavering support.
Signature Collection - We can make it! Stronger Together
We are still gathering signatures for our petition to Scottish Ministers to register interest in Community Right to Buy, and are confident of obtaining the required numbers by the deadline. However, we need every signature we can get, and here's why: the more signatures we have, the stronger the demonstrable community desire for the hub. Your signature matters and makes a significant impact in preserving our community's cherished space.
Our volunteers are making their way round the neighbourhood calling at houses and engaging in conversations with people. We hope to see you soon. As a reminder, we can only take handwritten signatures on paper. If you would like to get involved it’s not too late to help out.
If you want to sign, but haven’t had an opportunity, please save the date for the family fun day advertised below. We will be there with petitions.
Calling all residents- Become a member of the Broomhill Community Hub Trust
We invite you to become valued members of our organization, the Broomhill Community Hub Trust. Membership is free, and there are no liabilities associated with signing up. If you are a local resident eligible to vote in a local council election, then you are welcome to join as a regular member. As a Trust, we aim to secure community ownership of the Jordanhill Bowling Club site and establish a vibrant community hub in Broomhill. To achieve our goals and register as a company limited by guarantee under our articles of association, we need at least 20 regular members. Regular members have the privilege to vote at the AGM and play a crucial role in electing directors. All directors of the Trust must be members.
We also offer membership for junior members aged 12-15, who may not vote at the AGM or be directors, and associate members from outside the defined area, who may not vote at the AGM.
By becoming a member, you actively support our purposes, which include advancing citizenship and community development, providing recreational facilities and activities, promoting environmental protection and improvement, and advancing educational opportunities relating to environment, culture, heritage, and history.
Please fill out this form to sign up for membership.
Joint Family Fun Day with Friends of Naseby Park
To further bolster our efforts and engage with the community, we are coordinating a joint family fun day with the Friends of Naseby Park. Mark your calendars for the 5th of August from 12-16 hrs at Naseby Park. It's an excellent opportunity to sign the petition, get a sneak peek at the early outcomes from stakeholder engagement, and come together with your community. We have an array of family-friendly activities planned for a day of fun and camaraderie.
We deeply appreciate your continuous commitment to our cause. Your support is pivotal in creating a community space that benefits everyone and fosters strong connections among our residents.
Let's keep the momentum going! Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring the community hub to life. Spread the word, encourage your friends and family to sign the petition, and join us at the upcoming events.
