Survey Closed
Thank you for everyone who participated in the Broomhill Hub Ideas survey 👏. I am very happy to report we had 349 responses. For context, the recent Victoria Park Consultation on the VPCT vision for the Park had 384 responses. Proportionally we have been able to get far more input from residents. This underscores the level of support that the campaign has uncovered.
I will be spending the next fortnight analysing the results of the survey. Which leads me to my next announcement...
Invitation to next Broomhill Hub Community Event
I am pleased to announce that we will host a community engagement event on 13th of July at 19:00 at the Broomhill Community Church on Norby Road. The goal of this event will be to feed back to you, the community, the results of the survey. We will discuss the consensus of the community vision for the space and the next steps going forward to make our shared vision a reality.
Engagement with Jordanhill Bowling Club
I am very pleased to report that we have been contacted with the Trustees who are overseeing the sale of the Jordanhill Bowling Club assets. They have agreed to meet with us after our community engagement event. I am very hopeful that a productive dialogue can be entered between the community and them about the future of the site. More on this at a future date.
Broomhill Primary Summer Fayre
In my last update I forgot to mention, but a big thank you to Colin Hamilton for allowing the campaign to have a presence at the Broomhill PS Summer Fayre. We were very happy to be able to engage with the Community. Thank you to committee members Charles, Dorothy and Morag for staffing the stand.
Broomhill Community Council Goings on
After reports of dog litter in Naseby Park the community council has installed a dog litter dispensing bag. We hope that this will encourage folks to dispose of mess appropriately.
In my last update I mentioned that Broomhill Community Council has four vacancies which we will seek to fill the summer. I am pleased to say we have been approached by two retired gentlemen from the local community who wish to join. I would like to encourage as strongly as possible any women from the local area to step forward for the empty seats. I believe is very important to maintain a gender balance in our Community Council to ensure representativeness of our views. Similarly, younger members of the community are encouraged for the same reason. If you'd like to join BCC, please get in touch by replying to this email. The formal announcement of the election process will be posted on our Facebook, Website and Local Noticeboards in due course.
